1. Scope

The provisions of this regulation must be followed by all guests of PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL and ACTIVE BY SERENITY members. Strict observance of the provisions of the Regulation is essential for all users coexisting and for the proper operation of the Health Club, for which we are grateful for the collaboration of all.

2. Ability for physical exercise

Despite the importance and benefits of physical activity, being recognized maintaining or improving the well-being of Health Club users,  it is the sole responsibility of the members to ensure, prior to each use of the facilities, equipment or services of the Health Club, the inexistence of any contraindications for the practice of physical and sports activities. It is recommended that you obtain prior consent from your doctor.

3. Conditions of access to the facilities

3.1. Access to ACTIVE BY SERENITY by customers outside PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL is subject to the prior payment of all amounts depending on the type of membership chosen by the member. 

3.2. Access to the gym for members only be allowed within the respective opening hours with supervision, which are posted and can be changed at any time by ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT –UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL. 

3.3. Access to the Health Club by members is made at the Health Club reception by presenting the digital card sent to the member via email by ACTIVE BY SERENITY.  Members may be required to present an identification document at any time. 

3.4. Access to the Health Club by guests of PINE CLIFFS RESORT –UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL is made upon signing the disclaimer at the Health Club reception. Guests may be required to present an identification document at any time.

4. Behavior

4.1. Users must behave in a calm and urban manner within the Health Club, so as not to disturb or prevent the normal use of the facilities by third parties, and must be appropriately dressed when circulating in common areas. 

4.2. It is prohibited to smoke and consume alcoholic beverages in the Health Club. 

4.3. Users are responsible for replacing the equipment used in the exercise areas in their respective storage locations. 

4.4. It is not permitted to film or photograph inside the Health Club, without the prior authorization of ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL, in order to protect the privacy and comfort of all guests and members.

5. Use of the Exercise Room

5.1. Users must follow the instructions of the staff members of ACTIVE BY SERENITY and obtain advice from them, before using any equipment in the gym, whenever they do not know how it works, unless they are accompanied by a personal trainer, properly accredited by ACTIVE BY SERENITY. 

5.2. For hygiene reasons, it is mandatory that users carry towels when using equipment and materials in the exercise areas, as well as disinfecting them after use. Towels are available at the Health Club reception. 

5.3. The use of appropriate sports clothing and footwear is mandatory. It is not allowed to train shirtless.

6. Studio Active and Group Classes access

6.1. Guests and members will be prevented to join the group classes if they arrive with a delay of more than 10 minutes after the scheduled time of the activity, even if they have a reservation for the class. 

6.2. ACTIVE BY SERENITY has a mandatory class booking system for participating in group classes. Reservations must be made until 7pm the day before, through e-mail, phone, app or directly at health club reception 

6.3. In case of no-show or cancellation less than 12h in advance, ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT –UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL reserves the right to charge 100% of the class fee to guests or temporarily suspend access to group classes for members. 

6.3. ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT –UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL reserves the right to change schedules and activities at any time. For this purpose, the changes will be communicated by posting them in a visible place at the reception and websites.

7. Use of changing rooms

7.1. The lockers in the changing rooms are exclusively intended to be used by users while they are in the premises, and ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL does not assume any responsibility for the safekeeping of the goods placed there, including in case of loss, theft or robbery. 

7.2. The lockers will be emptied daily, for security reasons, by a staff member of the Health Club, after the closing of the facilities, applying the provisions of point 15 of the Regulation. 

7.3. For health and hygiene reasons, users should refrain from: 

(i) take food, drinks and glass containers to or store them in the changing rooms; 

(ii) shaving and/or waxing outside the area where there are washbasins. 

 8. General rules for the use of wet areas:

When using these facilities, it is mandatory to wear an appropriate bathing suit; 

For hygiene reasons, it is recommended to shower before entering the pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room; 

It is not allowed to run, jump, dive or use floats and balls; 

It is not allowed to consume food or use glassware; 

Smoking is not allowed; 

Pets are not allowed; 

Users with poor health should always consult their doctor before using these facilities; 

Do not use the jacuzzi, sauna or steam room if you are pregnant, have heart or respiratory problems, have low or high blood pressure, circulatory problems, diabetes, fluid retention or skin problems. 

The use of these facilities by people who are under the influence of alcohol or drugs is not permitted. 

8.1.Use of the Indoor Pool 

It is mandatory to wear a swimming cap in the indoor pool; 

The use of diapers for babies is mandatory; 

Children under the age of 14 must always be accompanied by an adult (over 18); 

8.2. Use of the Jacuzzi 

The use of the jacuzzi is not allowed for children under 16 years old; 

The jacuzzi has beneficial effects, although it should be used sparingly. Appropriate usage time varies depending on the intended purpose. If you want, for example, to warm up and relax your muscles, a jacuzzi time of about 10 minutes is recommended. However, you should never exceed its use for more than 15 minutes in a row. 

8.3. Use of the Sauna and Steam Room 

The use of the Sauna and Steam Room is not allowed for children under 16 years old; 

Recommended usage time is 10 minutes and it should never exceed 15 minutes. When your body feels warm, we recommend that you take a shower with cold or lukewarm water.

9. Minors

Use of the gym is prohibited for minors under 16 years of age, except when enrolled in specific activities, accompanied by a Personal Trainer or in exceptional cases, duly authorized by ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL and upon signature of a term of responsibility for tutors as well as presentation of medical certificate.

10. Personal Training

Only ACTIVE BY SERENITY self-employed licensed personal trainers are permitted to undertake personal training sessions in the Health Club.

11. Prohibition of access and permanence in the Health Club.

Failure to comply with internal rules, even if not described in these Regulations, which may affect the regular functioning of ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTIGAL, namely in terms of hygiene, behavior, timetables and use of materials and equipment, among others, is a reason for limiting access, canceling registration or even expulsion of the Health Club facilities

12. Hours of Operation

12.1. ACTIVE BY SERENITY opening hours are as follows: 

(i) Health Club – Hotel – Every day from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm; 

(ii) Health Club – Casa Pine Cliffs – From 9:00 am to 6:00 pm; 

(iii) Gym – 24/7 access to PINE CLIFFS RESORT guests only. 

12.2 ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL reserve the right to change, at any time, the opening hours and days of the Health Club, whenever justified: 

– depending on the average number of frequencies; 

– maintenance, cleaning or any other relevant reason that prevents the proper functioning of its services; 

– to restrict access to certain areas for private events; 

To this end, specific notices will be posted. These eventual changes will not imply any change in the monthly fees for members;

13. Price List

13.1. ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL reserves the right to change its Price List, at any time and according to its commercial policy. All prices include VAT at the current rate.

14. Payments and Cancellation Policy

14.1. Personal training services require pre-booking 24 hours in advance. In case of cancellation less than 12h or no-show, ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT reserves the right to charge 100% of the service price.

15. Lost and Found

15.1. Any property left at the Health Club will be kept for a period of 90 days. Once this period has elapsed, without the assets being claimed, the obligation of ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL to keep the assets, being able to dispose of them as it see fit, ceases. 

15.2. No perishable goods, hygiene products or underwear will be stored.

17. Responsibility

Members using ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL  are covered by an insurance policy mandatory under law.  

ACTIVE SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL is not liable for any negligent damages related to the use of the Health Club. 

Health Club users must comply with the rules and regulations in effect, as well as any others periodically issued by the Board. 

We appreciate you informing the Management if you become aware of any violation of this regulation. These rules and regulations were prepared for the maximum benefit and safety of users and in order to maintain the standards of ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL.

18. Term and Changes

The provisions of these Regulations enter in effect on the day following their posting at the Health Club, for an indefinite period.  ACTIVE BY SERENITY at PINE CLIFFS RESORT – UNITED INVESTMENTS PORTUGAL reserves the right to change the regulation, at any time and without prior notice.
